Sugar & Spice Sangria

Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice

Does anyone else immediately get into the Christmas spirit as soon as Thanksgiving dinner is over? I know this year has been weird - in so many ways - but I had to force myself to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start playing Christmas music. If there is one thing I don't want to miss this year, it is holiday cheer.

I've also been watching the best tv shows lately. I'm loving all of these mini series, but also, I really don't want them to end. My most recent indulgence? The Undoing on HBO. The last episode comes out today, and I wanted to create a holiday cocktail that was on theme with this murder mystery mini series.

This Sugar & Spice Sangria is perfect for the holidays and for this series.

It is sweetened with a honey simple syrup that is lightly spiced with mulling spices and enhanced by cranberries.

I choose a bold but jammy wine - 7 Deadly Zins - which I used to drink all of the time. It is a crowd pleaser and is very on brand for our murder mystery theme. I found the key is to top off the sangria with a dry hard cider. It gave it a pop of flavor I didn't realize I was missing until I added it. Garnished with cranberries, diced apples, and blood oranges, this sangria is divine!

Join me at 4:30pm PST (11/29) for an Instagram Live where I'll be chatting all things The Undoing with my friend Olivia.
